In behavioral interview, interviewers will usually hypothetically present the candidates with situations that might happen on the job. The behavioral job interview question is intended to dig into your past experience on how you behaved in variety of on the job situation to extrapolate your future reactions on the job.
The behavioral interview question is usually asked to gauge how you handle yourself in some really tight spots? What kind of on-the-job disaster have you survived. Did you do the right thing? What were the repercussion of your decisions?
Be very careful of what you say in behavioral interview. Every situation you faced was unique in its own way, so be sure to let the interviewer know the specific limitations you had to deal with. Did you lack adequate staff? Support from management? Do not make mistake of plunging in too quickly in behavioral interview, say so and admit that you've learned to think things through. Explain that you'd do differently the next time around.
During behavioral interview it is always important to steer away from the specifics of a particular situation and emphasize the personal strengths and expertise you'd feel comfortable bringing to any challenge your are likely to face
